In July, an exceptional individual received The Chief Nurses Care Award, chosen by their team from all HCRG Care Group employees.
Despite facing challenges like dyslexia, they pursued a career in occupational therapy, showcasing resilience and dedication. Starting as a hairdresser, they transitioned to the care sector and found their passion in occupational therapy at Serona.
Over 11 years, they have excelled in their role, inspiring others with their journey from humble beginnings to prestigious recognition. Their story exemplifies the transformative power of passion and perseverance:
“My apprenticeship provided me with a solid foundation in theory, giving me a deep insight into the reasons behind the impact of my work. Having a mentor for the last 3 years has been instrumental in shaping my approach and guiding me towards success.”
As she looks to the future, with three diverse placements and valuable experience in the healthcare system, she is well-prepared for her career. Mentors and employers have been instrumental in her growth, while innovative software has enhanced efficiency.
Challenges like balancing work and family persist, but she is ready to navigate her career path confidently.
