RBI is pleased to announce that booking is open for the 2023-24 Invest in Yourself programme. The programme offers skills development and training to UWE Bristol staff engaged in research. UWE researcher staff of all career stages, contract status and job role are warmly invited to take part, and we also welcome research support staff seeking to deepen their expertise.

Invest in Yourself supports staff to develop broad skills to support their research careers. It includes workshops and short sessions in areas such as research methods, impact and engagement and bidding. Most longer workshops are offered face-to-face, allowing you to meet colleagues within and outside your discipline and providing networking opportunities, but you will also find a number of short online sessions. These include our ‘Focus On…’ series which gives essential information and starting points on topics such as REF, intellectual property, and engaging with the media. We also host a monthly Writing Space session, where staff and postgraduate researchers can focus on their writing in a supportive environment.
We run a separate programme of skills training for postgraduate research students. For more details, please see the Graduate School’s researcher skills pages. Staff are welcome to join selected sessions in the PGR programme, listed on the Upcoming workshops page on the UWE intranet.
