Recently, the Governance and Accountability Research Group (GARG), the College of Business and Law was delighted to welcome our invited guest, Mr Saifullah Khan, a distinguished international trade, privacy, and policy lawyer, as well as a professional accountant and auditor. With over 23 years expertise in multi-jurisdictional trade law, WTO regulations, and accounting and auditing practices, Mr Khan is renowned in global trade affairs, legal frameworks and their applications in corporate risk management strategies.

In an interesting and intellectually rich session, Mr Khan delivered critical insights into the fundamentals of anti-dumping law, its importance in global trade, the role of financial derivatives in mitigating risks associated with trade restrictions, and the use of derivatives in risk management strategies for businesses affected by international trade disputes.

The lecture captivated both faculty and students, sparking dynamic discussions on the intersection of law, finance, and international commerce. The event was met with enthusiastic acclaim, and its success has opened exciting new avenues for research collaboration and industry engagement with GARG members and the broader business law community.

This event not only underscored GARG’s commitment to bridging academia and practice but also highlighted the vital role of legal and financial foresight in navigating today’s global trade landscape.
