You can get all the vaccinations below at a GP in Bristol or at the University Health Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can easily check your vaccination status by checking your health record:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/comms.uwe.ac.uk\/t\/c\/AQj3_gYQyMnRARjdp-i4AiDd3bconSxSl6gth282YV-O2_WXXPFvxYQW4Eo1lufXp8Eo45o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Patient Access<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>These are the key viruses you can easily be vaccinated against:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Meningitis<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meningitis, sepsis and septicaemia (blood poisoning) are very serious, potentially life-threatening illnesses that can lead to life-changing disabilities, such as amputations, hearing loss and brain damage. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/vaccinations\/menacwy-vaccine\/\">Find out more<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. <strong>MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MMR vaccine gives long-term protection against measles, mumps and rubella. These 3 infections spread easily between people and can lead to serious problems including: meningitis; blindness; hearing loss. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/vaccinations\/mmr-vaccine\/\">Find out more<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. <strong>Human papillomavirus (HPV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HPV is the name of a very common group of viruses. HPV is spread by skin-to-skin contact and can increase the risk of genital warts and some types of cancer. A single dose of HPV vaccine is now recommended &#8211; it&#8217;s available to all those aged under 25 and takes less than five minutes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. <strong>Influenza (\u2018flu\u2019) and COVID-19<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you think you might be in a high clinical risk group, contact your GP to see if you need to have a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/conditions\/vaccinations\/flu-influenza-vaccine\/\">flu vaccine<\/a>\u00a0or a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/conditions\/covid-19\/covid-19-vaccination\/about-covid-19-vaccination\/\">first COVID-19 vaccine or booster<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tuberculosis tests<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/tb-test-visa\/countries-where-you-need-a-tb-test-to-enter-the-uk\">any of these countries<\/a> and you will be in the UK for more than six months, you must take a tuberculosis (TB) test. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Read the UK Visa and Immigration guidance on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/tb-test-visa\/countries-where-you-need-a-tb-test-to-enter-the-uk\">tuberculosis tests<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>You may also be interested in<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/vaccinations\/why-vaccination-is-important-and-the-safest-way-to-protect-yourself\/\">Why vaccination is important and the safest way to protect yourself &#8211; NHS<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/national-flu-immunisation-programme-plan\">National Flu Immunisation Programme<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you know what you\u2019re vaccinated against?
