At UWE Bristol, we also have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwe.ac.uk\/study\/starting-block\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Starting Block<\/a>,\u00a0a fortnight of events and activities\u00a0during September\u00a0to\u00a0help you get settled and\u00a0make sure you have the best start to university life.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What to expect during Starting Block<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting Block is tailored to your&nbsp;programme&nbsp;and gives you a chance to get to know your campus, meet&nbsp;the academic&nbsp;team and&nbsp;other students on the programme.&nbsp;It\u2019s&nbsp;a time&nbsp;you\u2019ll&nbsp;become part of the UWE Bristol community.&nbsp;And this year,&nbsp;we\u2019re&nbsp;going BIG with a festival&nbsp;\ud83e\udd73\ud83d\ude4c\ud83c\udffc&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But before you get too excited, below are some things&nbsp;you still need&nbsp;to do before&nbsp;attending&nbsp;Starting Block:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to Blackboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete enrolment in MYUWE and view your timetable to see where you need to be and when<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your journey to campus and factor in travel time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enjoy Starting Block!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your programme team will provide you with an experience that is exciting,\u00a0meaningful\u00a0and completely tailored to your course.\u00a0Throughout Starting Block, they\u00a0will\u00a0host\u00a0activities and events to:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Help you understand the structure of your programme, such as key course dates and assessment methods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show you your programme-specific facilities, such as labs or studios<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a tour of campus spaces that are relevant to your studies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure you understand all the digital tools you&#8217;ll be using as part of your programme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take you through our foundation blocks &#8211; these are core elements to being a student at UWE Bristol.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Activity may include tours of Bristol, group challenges, taster events, quizzes, plus much more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hear from Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Science graduate and UWE Bristol alumni, Laura, about her experience of Starting Block:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Laura\u2019s Starting Block experience\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UgcQN3hq_Q4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, what&#8217;re you waiting for?
