Dr Mary Alice Young, Senior Lecturer and Researcher of Transnational Organised Crime from UWE Bristol has been invited to a series of engagements and placements around the world to share her expertise and research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Young has also been successful in applying for funding<\/a> to undertake a project which focuses on exploring the resilience of transnational organized crime in the pandemic and post-pandemic world. She has also incorporated Dr Amber Philips from UWE Bristol Criminology to assist with the project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n These appointments will initially begin as virtual residences with a focus on existing research projects, and will also see Dr Young contributing guest lectures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr Young will also be undertaking a placement with the Financial Investigations Unit in Jamaica<\/a> and also the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Research and Policy Development Unit<\/a> – both of these positions will involve assessing current legal frameworks on addressing organized and financial crime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr Young has been appointed as an editor for the Journal of Financial Crime, the Journal of Money Laundering Control and, the European Review of Organised Crime<\/a>.
