On October 3rd,<\/sup> Launch\nSpace<\/a> residents Scribeless<\/a> won the Santander\nUniversities Entrepreneurship Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scribeless helps companies better engage their customers through the power of the handwritten letter. They automate the process, using AI and Advanced Printing technology to create handwritten letters which are indiscernible from human-written in an affordable and efficient fashion for organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018We are incredibly proud to win the\ncompetition and now can\u2019t wait to help more companies utilise our handwritten\nsolution. UWE and its start-up accelerator, Launch Space, have been critical in\nhelping us grow over the last 18 months. There free accelerator has been\ngame-changing for us.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located in the new \u00a316m University\nEnterprise Zone on Frenchay Campus, Launch Space provides physical incubator\nspace and enterprise support for graduate start-up businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In just 18 months, Launch Space has\nsupported over 50 businesses, with over \u00a31.8 million funds raised by its\nresidents and employment created for more than 90 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Corderoy, Incubation Manager,\nUniversity Enterprise Zone commented: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is an excellent result for Rob and\nScribeless, and caps a very successful year for the team. They joined Launch\nSpace with a prototype handwriting robot which they evolved into a\nmarket-leading AI-led \u2018Software as a Service\u2019 product! They have raised a\nsignificant funding round, and are now delivering revenues from both the UK and\nUSA.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santander holds the Santander\nUniversities Entrepreneurship Award every year, for universities with\nagreements with the bank in the UK. The competition is divided into two\ncategories: undergraduate and postgraduate students, with three awards for each\ncategory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners will not only receive a\ncash prize, but will have the opportunity to make use of the bank’s services to\nhelp them start up their proposed business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launch Space will receive up to \u00a32,000,000 of funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth Programme 2014-2020. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) is the programme’s Managing Authority. Established by the European Union, the ERDF helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects that support innovation, businesses, job creation and local community regeneration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
