{"id":776,"date":"2019-01-16T08:11:55","date_gmt":"2019-01-16T08:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/engineering\/?p=776"},"modified":"2019-01-16T08:11:59","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T08:11:59","slug":"turf-cutting-ceremony-marks-construction-of-new-engineering-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/engineering\/turf-cutting-ceremony-marks-construction-of-new-engineering-building\/","title":{"rendered":"Turf cutting ceremony marks construction of new engineering building"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/engineering\/construction-begins-on-the-new-uwe-bristol-engineering-building\/\">work on the new Engineering building<\/a> at UWE Bristol begins, a turf cutting ceremony involving Construction Director\u00a0Neil Dorrington and Senior Site Manager Selina Elmasry from contractors BAM, and Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.uwe.ac.uk\/et\/\">Faculty of Environment and Technology<\/a> at UWE Bristol <a href=\"https:\/\/people.uwe.ac.uk\/Person\/PaulOlomolaiye\">Professor Paul\u00a0Olomolaiye<\/a>, was held on 15<sup>th<\/sup> January to mark its construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The state-of-the-art facility will be home to more than 1600 undergraduate and postgraduate students and 100 academic and technical staff from a wide variety of  <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.uwe.ac.uk\/et\/edm.aspx\">engineering disciplines<\/a>.
