{"id":1111,"date":"2019-03-12T12:42:49","date_gmt":"2019-03-12T12:42:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/engineering\/?p=1111"},"modified":"2019-03-12T12:42:52","modified_gmt":"2019-03-12T12:42:52","slug":"join-us-for-a-wikithon-celebrating-women-in-engineering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/engineering\/join-us-for-a-wikithon-celebrating-women-in-engineering\/","title":{"rendered":"Join us for a Wikithon celebrating women in engineering"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Wednesday 3<sup>rd<\/sup> April 2019, alongside our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/engineering\/free-event-women-like-me-boosting-mentoring-for-women-in-stem-in-the-west-of-england\/\">Women Like Me celebration<\/a>, UWE Bristol will be linking up with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wes.org.uk\/\">Women&#8217;s Engineering Society<\/a> (WES) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritageopendays.org.uk\/\">Heritage Open Days<\/a> to host a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:How_to_run_an_edit-a-thon\">Wikithon<\/a> celebrating women in engineering, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wes.org.uk\/events\/wes-centenary\">WES Centenary<\/a> year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">                                                                                                                                 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/extraordinary-women-in-engineering-a-wes-wikithon-uwe-bristol-tickets-58264911920\">Extraordinary Women in Engineering: a WES Wikithon \u2013 UWE Bristol <\/a>                           <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Come and join us to develop your digital skills and learn more about editing Wikipedia. Help to celebrate brilliant women engineers by creating and improving their pages on the world&#8217;s favourite online historical record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Complete beginners and experienced editors, all are welcome to attend &#8211; we&#8217;ll provide training for anyone new to editing. If you already have some wiki editing experience, we can help you improve your skills and learn a few new tricks. If you\u2019ve spotted an article that needs improving, bring along your queries and we\u2019ll see what we can do to help.
