{"id":1059,"date":"2019-02-28T08:43:53","date_gmt":"2019-02-28T08:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/engineering\/?p=1059"},"modified":"2019-02-28T08:43:58","modified_gmt":"2019-02-28T08:43:58","slug":"sign-your-pupils-up-to-the-great-science-share","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/engineering\/sign-your-pupils-up-to-the-great-science-share\/","title":{"rendered":"Sign your Pupils up to the Great Science Share"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Children from Years 4 to 8 from across the region are invited to&nbsp;<strong>share their own science investigations<\/strong>&nbsp;at the Great Science Share for Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/profile_images\/971387838515335169\/2iBdDjiE_400x400.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for great science share\" width=\"243\" height=\"243\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim of the Great Science Share is to nurture kids\u2019 natural curiosity by providing an opportunity for them to&nbsp;<strong>pose a scientific question<\/strong>,&nbsp;plan a way to investigate their question, and then&nbsp;<strong>share their investigation with new audiences.&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;This promotes child-centred learning as well as giving children a chance to communicate their projects in a non-competitive, inclusive environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can read more about the Great Science Share, access the inspiration wall and find out how you can support your class\u2019 project on the annual campaign\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greatscienceshare.org\/\">website<\/a>. So have a read and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bristolbathgreatscienceshare.eventbrite.com\/?s=92175938\">sign up<\/a>\u00a0your class to take part in the Bristol and Bath event on\u00a0Tuesday 18<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June 10-2 pm, hosted by UWE Bristol (Frenchay Campus, BS34 8QZ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scientists and engineers from STEM research and industry will also be attending the free event \u2013 there to be inspired by your children\u2019s fantastic questions and ideas, as well as to display cutting-edge technology from their industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entry: Each ticket admits up to eight children with two adults. Each class can apply for a ticket, so schools can bring different groups from multiple classes.
