{"id":96,"date":"2024-07-01T14:51:23","date_gmt":"2024-07-01T13:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/biosciences\/?p=96"},"modified":"2025-02-13T09:00:50","modified_gmt":"2025-02-13T09:00:50","slug":"the-gas-analysis-and-sensors-group-hold-annual-meeting-at-bletchley-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uwe.ac.uk\/biomedical\/the-gas-analysis-and-sensors-group-hold-annual-meeting-at-bletchley-park\/","title":{"rendered":"The Gas Analysis and Sensing Group hold Annual Meeting at Bletchley Park"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The 88th GASG meeting was held on Thursday 20th June 2024 at The Mansion Hose, Bletchley Park. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CRIB researchers were in attendance at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasg.info\/meeting-88-announcement\/\">88th meeting<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasg.info\/\">Gas Analysis and Sensing Group (GASG)<\/a> which was held at Bletchley Park, home to Britain&#8217;s wartime code breaking endeavours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwe.ac.uk\/research\/centres-and-groups\/biosciences\/research-themes\/biosensing#adb703782-f9db-4621-9707-f0da37afc5a2\">Prof. Norman Ratcliffe<\/a> was on the organising committee and chaired the opening session. He also presented the work of his former student, Matteo Fois on his MPhil research project entitled &#8220;Rare earth-based sensors for dual modality detection of VOCs using light emission and resistance change&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwe.ac.uk\/research\/centres-and-groups\/biosciences\/research-themes\/biosensing#aa6ca3de7-7414-417c-8e7a-9cdc0b911b0e\">Prof. Tony Killard<\/a> also presented his collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwe.ac.uk\/research\/centres-and-groups\/biosciences\/research-themes\/biosensing#a02d793e0-62bc-4c2a-bc4a-06e45f5aa4fa\">Dr. Saliha Saad<\/a> at UWE and BreathDX on the development of a conducting polymer sensor-based breath ammonia measurement system and its validation using SIFT-MS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Details of the full programme can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasg.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Bletchley-20-Jun-2024-Meeting-Prog-V8.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 88th GASG meeting was held on Thursday 20th June 2024 at The Mansion Hose, Bletchley Park.
