The Advanced Search on the repository now allows you to search for items with public, restricted or no full text. Scroll down to the bottom of the Advanced Search page to find this feature.
If you search for items with public full text, you will find all records that have any files attached that are viewable to the general public. There may be other files on these records that you can’t see, such as copyright permission documents or alternative versions of the publications, but there will always be at least one file viewable to the public.
Items with restricted full text are those that are accessible only to members of staff at UWE, or repository staff. This is usually due to either copyright or confidentiality reasons. If you do find an item like this that you would like to view, please e-mail eprints@uwe.ac.uk. We can forward your request on to the author, who will determine whether or not it is possible for you to be provided with a copy of the publication in question.
Finally, items with no full text attached are those where the author has chosen not to provide the full text for one reason or another. Again, this could be due to copyright or confidentiality reasons. As with items where the full text is restricted, if you find an item that you would like to view, please e-mail eprints@uwe.ac.uk. We will forward your request on to the author, who will determine whether or not it is possible for you to be provided with a copy of the publication in question.
These additional search fields are helpful to the Repository Team, as they allow us to put together more accurate full text statistics. However, you may also find them useful if you want to limit your search to items that have some form of full text attached, avoiding those records that only include bibliographic information.
