This is quick edit of some video of last week's level 1 walkshop, navigating Bristol's high culture (the Matti Braun installations at the Arnolfini gallery), street culture (the street art and murals of Nelson Street's See No Evil festival), and consumer culture (Broadmead and Cabot Circus).

graduate story

Nick, who graduated in July 2012, is now a videographer and motion artist at a creative agency:

“I primarily do camera work and edit for a whole range of clients. It can include corporate videos, content for digital platforms, advertisements, internal work and anything else that comes our way. I also get involved in the art direction for projects.

After leaving University I did think hard about what I gained from it:

Being surrounded by an overwhelming amount of fascinating reading was incredibly beneficial. The theoretical side of the course helped me understand that there is a rabbit hole of information that can open up a whole world of wonders.

The practical side of the course gave me a chance to get creative. I have a hard time putting my thoughts into words, so the opportunity to learn a discipline and use it to convey thoughts into presentable pieces was tremendously satisfying.

The experience of being around people with so much talent (both staff and students) was encouraging and inspiring. I think this is a point that is often taken for granted.

The course was amazingly helpful and I truly believe without the Intensive Production module, I wouldn't be working where I am now. It made me confident in creating an idea and turning it into a piece of work. When presented with a brief, I get a whole load of ideas based on things I learnt about on the course. Most of all, it made me work hard".
