So long Dave!

Bower Ashton Porters
Bower Ashton said goodbye to porter Dave Stone on Tuesday, after 18 years of dedicated service and hard graft! Dave’s wit and sunny demeanour will be missed by everyone here and the place just won’t be the same without him.

On the upside we got to have bacon sandwiches and Pete (another ex-Bower porter) stopped by to join in the send off and to show us all how much retirement agrees with him. We hope Dave will enjoy his retirement too – but that he misses us just a little bit!

International recognition for Graphic Design students

Graphic Design work by level 3 student
BA Graphic Design students have had their work recognised as being ‘of a consistently high standard’ by FontStruct – the online type design tool, sponsored by the world’s leading retailer of digital type, FontShop.

Level 1 students on the ‘Communicating with Words’ module have had their work featured on the FontStruct website, alongside an interview with Graphic Design staff.

FontStruct is a public space where users can discuss and comment on each other’s work, and the students have gained a real boost to their confidence in discovering that designers around the world are genuinely interested in their work.

Student ambassadors needed!

Posted by Alison Pack | 2 comments
Our brilliant student ambassadors are integral to our events, including Open Days, Interviews and Degree Shows. If you are enthusiastic about your course and are interested in representing UWE, then why not apply to join them? We are currently recruiting level one and two students from all courses at Bower Ashton. Ask for an application form at reception and we'll be in touch for a chat about what's involved.

Our newest recruit (although still a bit young to manage a campus tour just yet!) is Max-Lukas, the 3 month old son of our colleague Maxie - and if you know Maxie you'll see the striking resemblance!
